Welcome to the Extreme Environments unit!

Your environment means everything around you. The weather, the landscape, and the types of plants and animals that live there are all part of your environment. Some places on earth have extreme environments—places that are incredibly hot or cold, or that have intense storms. These extremes can affect life dramatically!

In this unit, you will:
  • Learn about extreme environments
  • Read stories that take place in those environments
  • Think about how living somewhere with extreme weather affects how people live
By:
  • Watching videos to help you understand what good readers and writers do
  • Reading and answering questions about literary and informational texts
  • Learning new academic words
