# Lines, line segments, and rays review

Review the basics of lines, line segments, and rays. Identify and draw lines, line segments, and rays in practice problems.

## What are ${\text{lines}}$ and ${\text{line segments}}$ and ${\text{rays}}$ ?

A ${\text{line}}$ extends forever in both directions, like this:

A ${\text{line segment}}$ is just part of a line. It has two endpoints, like this:

A ${\text{ray}}$ starts at one point and continues on forever in one direction, like this:

- this stuff is very easy i think

a ray is a line that has one endpoint and on one side it goes on forever

a line goes on forever in both directions

a line segment has two endpoints(191 votes)- I agree I love math(6 votes)

- Why is it two endpoints?(14 votes)
- Because two endpoints for a line segment means it cannot continue in either direction. Hope this helps!(55 votes)

- How do the lines get there names?(21 votes)
- How do i do the work sheet with the lines you have to drag? Its not working for me.(19 votes)
- you can draw the line segments in pencil.(10 votes)

- A ray is a line that never stops from one side(21 votes)
- it keeps saying I'm not doing it when I'm doing it is some type of glitch(14 votes)
- If you hit the refresh button it should work(11 votes)

- If someone got it wrong and they want to try to whole thing over again, shouldn't you change the questions so they don't memorize it?(6 votes)
- If you do try to take the tests and quizzes again, you will find different questions. However, there are only so many questions in the pool to draw from, so on occasion you will find a repeat.(16 votes)

- some times I feel like this app is glitched (still do) but its very helpful(12 votes)
- thats good examples thanks guys!(3 votes)

- doesn't make sense to me(9 votes)
- So hopefully this will explain to you-a line is a line that goes on forever in both directions. A line segment is something that has a start and an end (2 endpoints)-so basically the opposite of a line. Then a ray is something with a starting point, but no end. So a ray is like a line, but only one part is endless. You good 👍 ?(8 votes)

- I put it right next to D but I got it wrong so I had to put it on D.What a waste of time.(10 votes)
- 30 minute timer is almost done!(1 vote)
