• Hi, what do ypu call a fraction that has a numerator bigger than the denominator?
(1 vote)
• A fraction with a bigger numerator is called an improper fraction. A fraction with a bigger denominator than numerator is called a proper fraction. See the difference? 1/12 would be considered a proper fraction since the numerator (1) is less than the denominator (12). But if I had the fraction 13/12, it would be considered an improper fraction since the numerator (13) is greater than it's denominator (12). Another fraction is a mixed fraction. A mixed fraction is a fraction with a whole number and a fraction. 1 1/12 is mixed fraction. There is a 1, which is a whole number, and there is the fraction 1/12, which is a fraction. Ther fraction and whole number together make a mixed fraction.
• Who’s the one making the marks on my account in khan academy
• Um I think you're being hacked so um maybe create a new account?
• How are the numerator and denominator of a fraction related to the number of equal parts from 0 to 1 ? Am a bit confused. Thx.
• The denominator tells us how many equal parts we make between 0 and 1 on a number line and
the numerator tells us which is the part we wanted to mark. Hope this helps.

• What are equivalent fractions
(1 vote)
• Equivalent fractions are fractions that have the same value. Although they can have different numerators and denominators, they can be simplified to make the other fraction that is equivalent to it. For example, 1/2=2/4.
