• In the metric system a ton is 1000 kgs. Is the US customary "ton" different that the metric "ton' then?
• Yes, the US ton, called the "short ton" = 907,18 kg.
• i dont get the whole video
• lol same
• A question on my test asked how much a megaton was.

How much is it?
• One ton is equal to 2000 pounds. The prefix mega equals 1,000,000. So one megaton is one million tons or two billion pounds.

2000 x 1,000,000 = 2,000,000,000 (two billion pounds)

• How do you divide pounds by ounces?
• You just convert the pounds into ounces. For example, let's say you wanted to divide 2 pounds by 24 ounces. Since there are 16 ounces to one pound, you just do a little multiplication or division. So you would get 32 ounces out of the 2 pounds. Then you just divide. 32/24 is equal to 4/3. You can get a decimal out of it, but this fraction is more accurate.
• Shouldn't he convert improper fractions to mixed numbers?? Can someone please explain?
• First, Sal converted 1 and 1/2 pounds to an improper fraction so that it would be easier to determine how many pounds were in 1 and a 1/2 pounds.
• why did he say youll never get counfused when im getting counfused
• I don't understand. Why did Sal round to 18 people and not 19? 18.75 is close to 19. I don't see why it wouldn't be able to handle 19 people.
