Joe has a recipe that requires 3 and 1/2 cups of flour. He wants to reduce the recipe by 1/2 cup. How many cups of flour are needed for the smaller recipe?

• no it would not. it will make things easier like 6/8 times 8/12. you would get 1/1 times 1/2 equals 1/2. other than just do ahead and multiply 6/8 by 8/12 and get 48/96 and having to simplify 48/96 into 1/2.
• Erin uses 2/8 yards of string to make 1 bracelet. Erin will make 6 bracelets. How many yards of string will Erin use to make 6 bracelets?

• A ribbon is ²/₃ feet long. If you want ¾ of a ribbon, how long would that be in feet?
• star wars is 2 hours and like 30 min long tho and the Lord of the rings is like 3 hours long so
