When thinking of the question like that you can imagine it as being 300 ÷ 75, which is the same thing as how many equal groups of 75 are in 300.

How do you add the fractions if you have different denominators?

You can find a common no. between both denominators, multiply them (with the numerator) and then add!

How does this even work? I have been stuck and rewatching this video multiple times.

Look, it’s pretty simple. Think of three as three hundredths. Now divide three hundredths into 75 hundredths. What did you get? That’s right, it’s 4. You don’t need to draw pictures for this.

  If you are working only with whole numbers, that is correct. If you are dividing by less than a whole number, the answer will be greater than the thing you are dividing.
