Other atmospheric pollution

Problem

Industries that burn coal or oil at high temperatures can emit pollutants into the atmosphere that react to form acid rain. The diagram below shows an example of how several communities contribute to and are impacted by acid rain.
Four communities are shown in a drawing of a large area near an industrial site. Smoke stacks at the site are emitting pollution into the atmosphere. Arrows show that the pollution travels up into the clouds where wind then blows from left to right. Community A is close and to the left of the industrial site. Community B in front of the site and relatively far away. Community C is close and to the right of the industrial site. Community D is also to the right of the site but farther away than community C.
