Apply: force, mass, and acceleration

Problem

Three teams of students are designing an experiment to study the relationship between the mass of an object and its acceleration due to a force. All three teams are using the variation of an atwood machine shown below.
A device with a pulley system rests on the ground. The device has a flat bottom and top. Resting on the left side of the top is mass M sub a. A string extends from this mass to the right edge of the surface where the string goes over a pulley and down to a small house shaped frame with a flat shelf on the bottom. Two small rectangular shapes rest on the shelf. The entire framed shelf, labeled M sub b, is suspended by the string just above the ground.
Team 1 varies the mass of Mb and measures the time Mb takes to reach the floor for each mass.
Team 2 adds low-friction wheels to Ma. Then, they vary the mass of Mb and measure the time that Mb takes to reach the floor for each mass.
Team 3 adds low-friction wheels to Ma. Then, they measure the time it takes Mb to reach the floor.
