Electrolyte (strong acid test)
Experimenting with a strong acid as electrolyte and observing the change in deflection compared to weak acid (vinegar). Created by Brit Cruise.

- Is it stronger the acid stronger the electrolyte?(14 votes)
- Yes. A strong(er) acid is a stronger electrolyte (chemistry).(12 votes)
- So we can use this device to measure electrolytes in different sports drinks also? Can you give me a diagram to make it?(5 votes)
- There is a video showing how to make it at https://www.khanacademy.org/science/discoveries-projects/discoveries/batteries/v/battery-meter--galvanometer.(2 votes)
- What does acidity have to do with electricity? Is it something with the way the molecules are structured?(1 vote)
- Acids have positive ions, which attract electrons to them to make them more stable. Electrons in motion form electricity, which couples with magnetism. So the more positive ions, the more electric current is created and thus the stronger the magnetic field.(5 votes)
- What would happen if you had more acid?(1 vote)
- You would be able to sustain the same current for longer.(2 votes)
- what is an electrolyte(1 vote)
- I learnt about pH in chemistry. I kinda forgot about it, but it said that you can tell how strong the acid is by calculating its pH. And the stronger the acid is, the greater it would donate electrons. Could you please tell me the relationship between electricity and pH and acid(or base or neutral)?? thank you!(1 vote)
- At, when he puts the zinc and copper into the drain opener, the copper bubbles like crazy. Why? 0:16(1 vote)
- WHo was acting in this? and where>(1 vote)
- What will happen if you put really strong acid?(1 vote)
- can someone tell me the difference between molar conductivity and electrolytic conductivity(k) ?(1 vote)
