# Placing absolute values on the number line

In this math lesson, we learn to sort values from least to greatest using a number line. We practice with negative numbers, positive numbers, and absolute values. By plotting these values on the number line, we can easily identify their order and improve our understanding of number relationships.

• I have noticed a thing.
a physics video(I am 6th grade)= 9 minute video
a math video(6th grade) = 2 or 1 minute video
Why is it so? Can anyone answer me?
(BTW) I know that this is out of context, and I maybe dumb, but I am just curious)
• I think that for the math videos Sal is working through math problems to show a concept and that doesn't take very long, whereas the physics videos are explaining ideas. I'm just guessing, but I hope that helps. :)
• Upvote me If you think that sal is awesome and the best teacher
• So basiclly ur turning neg. and pos. into their opposites?

• I still don't understand why negative numbers have less value if they are at the same distance as 0
• They are less then zero, lets say that I hade 2 cookies, my friend ate them and said Give me another one. I would be in debt of 1 cookie, or I had -1 cookies. Think of it as zero minus a number.
• i wonder why -27 is just 27 but it has the negative symbol on it ?
• If the question is, "What's the absolute value of -27" then the answer will be +27 because absolute values are never, ever positive.

-27 is not 27, but their absolute value is 27.

• why did you only change one number to a positive number
